Clearview is set in the beautiful mountains nearby the year-round resort town of Sandpoint, Idaho. Girls attend Clearview from every state. Enrollment is year-round and caring transport for your girl can be arranged if she is reluctant to get the kind of help Clearview provides.

With expert psychotherapists dealing in teen issues, Clearview’s multi-disciplinary team is dedicated to helping each girl start on a new and more productive path in life. The clinical staff on and off campus include psychiatric specialists, primary care physicians, a dentist, an orthodontist, and licensed psychotherapists as well as teachers, mentors and residential care staff.

The Clearview Girls Academy experience is not short-term. Our program is designed to last for a minimum of twelve months. If we could help your girl have lifelong success with a shorter term program, we would do that, since there is an ongoing need for help by families across America and around the world. We’ve learned that one year is the minimum time required for most girls to: become open to change, accept that they need help, learn from our therapists, and to put new behaviors and thinking into habitual practice. For some girls, it can take many months of counseling before they even begin to get to the bottom of their internal issues, and then more time is needed to work through those issues and the ways for the girl to cope more positively.

Resident girls receive an individual treatment plan aligned with their medical, emotional, psychological, educational and spiritual needs. The Clearview program is very personable and relational, but highly structured. Teachers are on site to ensure that all students continue their academic progress and Clearview is fully accredited.

While Clearview Girls Academy is a faith-based program based on the Christian faith, we welcome and offer compassionate care to students of all faiths.

Clearview Girls AcademyClearview provides innovative therapy techniques including individual, group and family therapy. Our Chemical Dependency Counselor is often called on to  provide extra support in dealing with the unique issues associated with drug addictions. The goal is to uncover the psychological factors contributing to the student’s unhealthy behavioral choices. The student will then learn therapeutic tools that will assist her for the rest of her life to be a healthy woman.

In the beautiful environment, students find the strength to overcome their issues and bad motivations. Students will attend school, receive tutoring when necessary, and participate in after school activities. They provide vocational training for students over the age of 18.

Families are encouraged to come and visit their daughter after an appropriate number of family therapy phone calls. When the visits occur there will be face to face family therapy with a psychotherapist. Each visit has a set of behavioral goals which the student works on during this time.

Family therapy occurs during family visits, weekend retreats, and on the phone.

Activities

Clearview emphasizes a healthy, nutritionally-balanced diet along with physical activities, restful sleep and fun times; all designed to teach a healthy lifestyle. Girls participate in many outdoor and recreational events during the year, as well as organized team sports. Girls also enjoy periodic camping and hiking outings in the beautiful and rugged mountains of the Pacific Northwest. For spiritual support, girls are given encouragement and instruction by Christian staff and attend non-denominational church services. The students are required to attend church services, youth group, and bible study, but they are not forced to participate in these activities.

Clearview Girls AcademyDuring the school year the girls may participate in a number of activities: aerobics, self-defense lessons, dance, river rafting, and rock climbing. Winter finds the girls snowboarding on Schweitzer Mountain and snowshoeing or sledding at the lodge.

Summer activities for the girls may include horseback riding, biking, hiking, river rafting, rock climbing, fishing, camping and playing sports.
